By “late” I mean by a few hours…and also late is relative since I really have no deadlines other than the ones I impose on myself for this series. Usually I wake up early in the morning and do this but today I had to be a Dad and take my son all around town for various chores and Mother’s Day prep. And I have to leave again in another hour so why not make this one of those random, confusing “Here’s a bunch of stuff I either am working through or just decided to include” playlists?
Yeah…that’s what we’ll do.
- More Eaze, Claire Rousay – “Limelight, Illegally”
- ID – ‘Sunrise (A New Day)”
- King Crimson – Lark’s Tongue in Aspic, Part II”
- Jordsjø – “Kontraster”
Super light on the commentary since I’m already late with this, but opening with The Moody Blues was a no-brainer: they’re a band I’ve always been fascinated by but for years the chamber pop quality of their music held me at arm’s length. Finally caved and bought a new CDs and I’m slowly getting hooked. The rest of the playlist is a combination of stoner rock, noise rock, jazzy rock, and – of course – prog rock. Just grabbed the 40th anniversary edition of the King Crimson album so I can test the Steven Wilson surround mix. We shall see…
Be safe, be good to each other. See you next week.
