There’s no delusion going on; I’m aware of the traffic this sit generates, and while there are hits for the playlist, they’re certainly smaller than the other posts. I enjoy it though, but moving forward I’m making a very small change: while the YouTube playlists will remain in perpetuity (provided the videos are still available), the Apple Playlist will rotate with whatever playlist is current. What does that mean for you, the Consuming The Tangible reader/listener? Simply that moving forward if you click on an older Apple Music playlist, it will probably take you to the latest one. You can save the playlist each week and maintain/expand them as you see fit if you’re an Apple subscriber, but I suspect most people use YouTube and that’s it.
Everything else – including the weekly cadence – remains the same. So let’s do this.
- The Messthetics w/ James Brandon Lewis – “Deface the Currency”
- Willow – “Vegetation”
- Jill Scott – “Be Great (feat. Trombone Shorty)”
- Bruce Springsteen – “Nebraska”
- Belzebong – “420 Horsemen”
- Jethro Tull – “Cold Wind to Valhalla”
- Lovebites – “Blazing Halo”
- HEALTH – “Burn the Candles”
- Ashbringer – “Vessels”
- Ratboys – “Know You Then”
- Craig Leon – “Ring With Three Concentric Discs”
- Worm – “Witchmoon: The Infernal Masquerade (feat. Marty Friedman)”
The biggest surprise/joy of the week came with the surprise (to me, at least) of Willow dropping her next album out of the blue. Empathogen was one of my favorite albums of 2024, and follow-up petal rock black sounds to be just as daring. You can check out the trailer here where she goes into detail of the process, and I continue to be all-in on her journey. Speaking of musical journeys, my friends and I are starting an “active listening” thing where we pick albums and discuss. No idea of the format yet, but three of the tracks here represent our first round of albums. I’ll let you figure out which ones they are.

What they’re definitely NOT are the metal tracks (at least this time) included in the playlist. I finally got bit by the Worm bug possessing everyone (I’m still not WORMED though, sorry fellas), and Lovebites continues to be one of my favorite outfits doing the whole power metal thing.
Be safe, be good to each other. See you next week.
