I’m beginning to realize how much of my stress is attributed to my insistence on doing so many things, and then feeling weird when I stop. Taking a break from the constant reviewing has not only given me more time for practicing guitar, but for getting back into reading, something I’ve been woefully lax on. Trying to do this site, build a guitar curriculum, write for Nine Circles, record for Cinema Dual (and write about James Bond every two weeks) and read and catch up on books and record the next album…not to mention you know, work? And parenting? Anyway, this weekend I’m largely free to just do what I want, so the plan is to just let go, rest, and recuperate.
Here are some songs.
- Minutemen – “#1 Hit Song”
- Soft Machine – “The Longest Night”
- Antropocenc – “Xe Anama (Coração no Ritmo da Terra)”
- Clouds Taste Satanic – “Second Sight”
- Mike Watt – “Maggot Brain (featuring J Mascis and Bernie Worrell)”
One quick hit for a song I’ve come to love, followed by four massive tracks. We bookend with Mike Watt, fitting with all the Minutemen I’ve been listening to lately.

Be safe, be good to each other. See you next week.
