Too much coming in, not enough time or energy to listen to it all. I wish I could say the spree of purchasing ended with last week’s 20 Buck Spin stop, but Small Stone Records was there, and so was the local record shop, and a bunch of preorders made their way in, and…
…you get the idea.
I’m once again heading back upstate to drop my son off at college and hopefully get some time to sit and decompress with my thoughts and stuff on the long drive. This is a portion of what I’ll be catching up on.
- Chicago Transit Authority – “Introduction”
- Damaged Bug – “Eggs at Night”
- Birth Control – “Gamma Ray”
- Yes – “Beyond and Before”
- Sleep – “The Druid”
- Snail – “Smoke the Deathless”
- Armored Saint – “Tribal Dance (Live)”
- Jeremy Irons & The Ratgang Malibus – “Fernando”
- Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention – “How Could I Be Such a Fool”
- Missus Beastly – “Spaceguerilla”
Not a lot of commentary this week. Had been looking for a good solid copy of the original mix of the first Chicago album for a while now, and of you’ve never heard the band beyond their hits or Cetera-powered ’80s prom ballads, you’re in for a treat. Snail and the Jeremy Irons & the Ratgang Malibus were picks along with a bunch of digital downloads from Small Stone Records, while the Yes and Zappa came from my excursion to Spike’s Record Rack. There was a steep discount on the first two Damaged Bug albums so I grabbed them and I think everything else came from LaserCD.

Be safe, be good to each other. See you next week.
